Get overwhelmed with all those social media notifications flooding your inbox? Me too. I’m an avid GTDer who uses Gmail with plenty of filters, but these emails don’t have a consistent next action step. They don’t all fit into the Reply, Reading, or Follow-up category.
Meryl Evans at Web Worker Daily (a favorite blog) offers this awesomely simple tip: create a Social Media folder and matching filters for batch processing.
I set this up for myself and a client several weeks ago. It has saved loads of time and reduced inbox clutter significantly. Now, I just go to my Social Media folder and handle (check new followers, accept connections, reply, etc.) all at once, according to my schedule.
Email and time management in one. Try it, you’ll like it
